Masonry & Tuckpointing, done the honest way
Minnesota freeze and thaw is hard on brick. Water gets into the mortar joints, freezes, expands, and a little more mortar falls out every year. Eventually bricks spall, shift, and the top of the chimney has to be rebuilt.
Tuckpointing replaces the deteriorated mortar before that happens. We grind out the failed joints, repoint with matched mortar, replace spalled brick, and rebuild the top courses when they are past saving. Photos of what we found and a price in writing, then you decide.
